For the past eight years John Boehme has incorporated a wide range of art practices including digital technology, performance, photography, video, sculpture and installation. Believing in interdisciplinarity and experimentation.
John has had both solo and group international exhibitions in the United States at Seattle's Full Nelson II, III. in Canada, at Western Front, Art Gallery of Greater Victoria and in Mexico at MIPS, EX - Teresa International Performance Art Festival, Mexico City, and in China at Shanghai Hua Shan Gallery, UK at Trace, Cardiff Wales, France. With recent exhibitions in Los Angeles, Mercer Union Gallery in Toronto and Currency 2002, an International Festival of Contemporary Performance in New York. John is also the President of a distribution company while also teaching at the University of Victoria and Camosun Colleges, and working at the Dockyard at the Department of National Defense.
Working title P.E.R (PERFORMANCE EVALUATION REVIEW) Boehme's new work involves video, slides, and live performance. Over the past seven years he has incorporated a wide range of art practices including digital technology, performance, photography, video, sculpture and installation. This interdisciplinary artwork explores the various complexities, relationships and language of the white, pink and blue collar work force drawn from interviews, research and the artist’s personal experience.
